EPISODE 5: FROM FASHION BLOGGER TO CREATIVE ENTREPRENEUR WITH BETH JONES

Modern Entrepreneurs PODCAST BETH JONES Episode 5

Today my guest is Beth Jones of B.Jones Style. I can’t wait to share Beth’s story with you. She is what you would call an OG fashion blogger. But, today, she’s more than that. Beth’s journey into the fashion blogging world, began in 2007. The type of work she’s doing today has changed a lot since her fashion blogging days. Today, she’s an interior design consultant, a stylist + a content creator.

Beth Jones, 35, is originally from South Carolina but currently lives in Orange County, CA. This is an awesome parallel to me since I actually went to high school in South Carolina + moved back to California during college. In 2007, she created an online fashion site called The Vintage Society, which showcased her personal style that was a mix of vintage and modern, within year, her readership exploded to thousands a day.

With this platform, Beth was a perfect match for Quiksilver’s new Women’s line and she became a sponsored “Visionary in Residence”. She quickly established herself with the brand and in 2009 she became the Online Fashion Editor. In this new role, she wrote the fashion blog + created creative online marketing campaigns. One which included a photo shoot featuring, “LA It Girls” and an online video series called, “Getting Dressed with Quiksilver Women”. From 2011 to 2013, she continued on as QSW’s featured “Style Ambassador” and hosted styling videos, blogged about her personal style + traveled abroad spreading the news of the QSW lifestyle.

In 2009, Beth re-branded herself + launched B. Jones Style, a fashion blog that peers into her daily life cataloging daily outfits , where-how of what she shops for, hair tutorials, fashion inspirations + how style seeps into every nook + cranny of her life.

Since launching B. Jones Style, Beth has worked with many companies including Paul Mitchell, Timex, Beachmint, DKNY Fragrances, Tiffany & Co., Diane von Furstenburg, Mercedes-Benz, ModCloth, Banana Republic, Kohl’s + Crossroads Trading Co. She is part of the The Huffington Post’s STYLELIST network as well as Vogue’s Influencer Network. As a Vogue Influencer she was chosen to be featured in the September 2011 Issue for a CoverGirl Campaign!

Currently, Beth works as a stylist, design consultant + part-time fashion blogger. She is also very excited about her passion project, the B. Jones Style YouTube Channel. Every week she posts new videos with the hope that she can inspire girls to style up their life.

I love talking with Beth so I hope you find our chat inspiring. She has lots of experience with what it’s like following a creative path as an entrepreneur in today’s quickly moving technological world. Check out her brand YouTube channel, B Jones Style & follow her on SnapChat!

Enjoy!
