Branding Tip: How To Handle Negative Feedback
Whether you are asking a friend from yoga class what she thinks of your new logo or asking your sister how your paleo cookies taste (bleh!), everyone has an opinion. When asking others about your work or especially your own brand identity, take it all in & breathe. Everyone has opinions & not everyone is going to like what you (or me) are doing. Different strokes for different folks.
Take what they say and try & grow from it or mostly, throw it all out the door. Ultimately, you need to have confidence in your work and know how to deal with criticism tactfully and emotionally. Being a creative entrepreneur means you need to be able to take criticism. Remember that constructive criticism is good, don’t be so sensitive that you can’t handle any criticism.
In the online world, you might encounter negative feedback by reviews or ratings. Don’t run from it. Instead, you should face these negative comments head-on. By addressing customer concerns, you’re not only building trust, but it could help diffuse a tense situation and could help you win back a displeased customer.
How do you deal with criticism? Do you have a strategy in place on how to respond, react or what to takeaway from it?
